什么是耐热钢

耐热钢(Heat-Resistant Steel)是指在高温环境下能保持抗氧化性和足够强度的合金钢。这类材料广泛应用于炉用构件、石化加热器、电站锅炉、汽车排气系统等需要长期在600°C以上温度工作的场合。

选材时需要综合考虑三个核心因素:最高使用温度、氧化/还原气氛,以及全生命周期成本。

310S(UNS S31008)——高温环境下的主力牌号

310S 是一种奥氏体不锈钢,铬含量约25%,镍含量约20%。高铬含量可在表面形成致密的Cr₂O₃氧化膜,在连续使用温度1050°C下仍具有优异的抗氧化能力。

309S(UNS S30908)——高性价比的中温选择

309S 的化学成分相对平衡,铬约23%,镍约13%。设计用于最高温度低于1000°C、且对成本敏感的应用场景。

253MA(UNS S30815)——稀土微合金化高端牌号

253MA 通过添加微量铈(Ce)和氮(N)来获得极其稳定的氧化层。该牌号可承受连续使用温度高达1150°C,是最苛刻的炉用场景的首选。

What Is Heat-Resistant Steel

Heat-resistant steel refers to alloy steels that retain oxidation resistance and adequate mechanical strength at elevated temperatures. These materials are indispensable in furnace components, petrochemical heaters, power generation boilers, and automotive exhaust systems where prolonged exposure to temperatures above 600°C is routine.

The selection of the right grade depends on three primary factors: maximum service temperature, oxidizing or reducing atmosphere, and total cost of ownership including fabrication and maintenance.

310S (UNS S31008) — The Workhorse of High Temperatures

310S is an austenitic stainless steel containing approximately 25% chromium and 20% nickel. Its high chromium content forms a dense, adherent chromium oxide scale that provides excellent oxidation resistance up to 1050°C in continuous service.

Typical applications include furnace retorts, annealing boxes, radiant tubes, and heat treatment fixtures. The alloy offers good weldability and retains adequate room-temperature ductility after thermal cycling.

309S (UNS S30908) — Cost-Effective Mid-Range Option

309S provides a balanced chemistry with roughly 23% chromium and 13% nickel. It is designed for applications where the maximum temperature is below 1000°C and where some cost savings over 310S are desired.

Common uses include kiln linings, burner shrouds, and conveyor belts in heat treatment operations. Its lower nickel content reduces material cost while still delivering reliable oxidation resistance.

253MA (UNS S30815) — Premium Rare-Earth Stabilized Grade

253MA incorporates micro-additions of cerium and nitrogen to achieve a remarkably stable oxide layer. This grade can withstand continuous service temperatures up to 1150°C, making it suitable for the most demanding furnace applications.

The addition of rare-earth elements improves scale adhesion, reducing spalling during thermal cycling and extending component life significantly compared to conventional grades.

Selection Recommendations

Choose 309S when the operating temperature remains below 950°C and cost is the primary driver. Select 310S for continuous operation between 950°C and 1050°C where proven performance and wide availability matter. Opt for 253MA when the application demands the highest temperature capability, severe thermal cycling, or extended service life without shutdown.

Welding and Fabrication Notes

All three grades are readily weldable using matching filler metals. Preheating is generally unnecessary, but controlled interpass temperatures below 150°C help prevent sensitization in thick sections. Post-weld heat treatment is not required for most service conditions.

Tip: When designing furnace fixtures, allow for thermal expansion. Austenitic grades exhibit higher expansion coefficients than ferritic alternatives, so adequate clearances prevent distortion and jamming at temperature.
